2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSomebody hold me
I'm optimistic, but nervous - if that makes sense. I have to leave soon to take my son to martial arts class. I don't want to leave the warm comfort of DU. I will have to fight the urge to turn on the radio. I've already eaten two slices of pizza (a lot for me), half a giant bar of dark chocolate and I'm gulping coffee. I'll be 15 pounds heavier by midnight. I'm starting to get nervous tummy bubbles. Someone....hold me and tell me it'll be alright.

(323 posts)Ohio GOTV an amazing thing. Just walked three hours in Cincinnati and we had almost more volunteers than work to be done. No guarantees but being a part of today's effort helped my nerves. Now sitting back with a JD & Diet Coke and watching a movie.

(25,415 posts)Very early exit polls look pretty good so far. Some are saying good turnout in VA and OH and other places. Hang in there.

(5,049 posts)This election is not about him - its about us. If we all stand together and hold fast we will find strength in our numbers, comfort in our cause, and courage in each other.
I am standing beside you - we are all together here tonight - out of many we are one.

(331 posts)I asked if they wanted to see my voter's registration and they said "no". They looked me up in their book of registration, found my number and I voted. It was nice to see people I haven't seen for a while and many of them are the age of my mother. I feel young again cause they are giving me attention, asking me how I am feeling, etc. Election Day is a special day here. I didn't have to wait in line, just one person was ahead of me. It is WV, too bad most people here are voting for the Mittster. We have a Democratic Senator who sides with the Republicans. I voted for him cause I guess it is better to vote for a Dem. I want Obama to have that help in the Senate and sometimes he gets it from this guy.
I took Mom and Sis out to eat and we shopped at Target and now I am back and very nervous. I know what was said about Obama votes coming in around 8:00. I'm just so scared! Please declare him a winner! Please, please, please so I can sleep tonight!
