Conservative bitter tears thread

I searched DU to see if there's an election night thread focusing on the comments from RW intelligentsia on the looming election night results. Couldn't find one, so feel free to post comments/links to usual places who were/are convinced that their political/social views reflect mainstream American reality. I expect that we'll have plenty of delusional comments to highlight tonight.

The hand-wringing here is distracting. Ohio is in play, so is WI, NH and IA. Question is can Romney still win without Ohio?

It’s all about OH. If its close, there are 130k provisional ballots that won’t be counted till next week.

Alright, I am not feeling good right now people.

I don’t care what the turnout looked like in stories on here today.

I am stunned. I expected a win, but look....the exit polls appear to be fairly accurate tonight.

And looks like CO may be a win by O as well as Ohio.

I think it’s over. We’ve lost.

I really, really, hope I’m wrong. But, the exit polls tonight do not appear to be 2004 again.

I’m physically ill.

OKAY... Let me get this straight...

According to Rasmussen, voter ID has switched about 13.5% in favor of Republicans since 2008.

Independents are overwhelmingly going towards Romney.

Many Democrates are voting for Romney.

2010 was a BLOWOUT for Republicans.

Republicans are highly motivated to throw these jokers out, because of the garbage they’ve foisted on the country.

And this MARXIST actually stands a chance of winning AGAIN??!!

You’ve got to be kidding me!! Something sure doesn’t smell right here!

Even the old USSR had elections, but everybody knew what a charade they were.

I've been saying that for months. This entire election, since it's inception 3 years ago - was a Soviet-styled sham.

If folks understood history, they would recognize the fact that no Marxist once achieving power EVER loses that power, and "elections" are for nothing more than to create an illusion of 'choice' to placate the masses.

We've gone Soviet - and only now are lots of folks from our side willing to possibly consider that fact.

We’ve seen that episode before, as well. After Hitler got as far as he could with the “economic miracle” that he bought by theft and murder of Jews, Germany started attacking neighbors. The end result was the near total destruction of the German people.

The Russians ran into the same problem, but there is no America to counter the United States.

The people that voted for Obama voted for to bring their own doom upon them, and I don’t care about that. I do care that what they are going to do to a lot of the rest of us.

When pressed on the matter, most thoughtful serious Catholics will caveat that statement with an assertion that many or most people who attend the services or even say they are Catholic, aren’t a part of the church. Which is how the paradox can be maintained. OK, let’s grant the evangelical view that the one true church is the set of all honest believers in Jesus Christ. It has the same problem of tares and gets hooted at by outsiders for the same reason. Not because it exercises its faith too strongly, but too weakly.

This was one battle that was lost. At best, this loss will help us avoid the obvious mistakes made.

There will be other battles in the future, and our goal is to win more battles than we tie or lose.

The purpose of our future battles is to win the WAR, just as Breitbart warned us.

On the positive side we need to list what the problems are.

On the negative side we need to list what mistakes were made.

Yes—but they will be up enough electorally that several of the close states will need to flip. NC is the only state R is winning that is close—within 2—the second closest in his column is Georgia, where he is up 8. Of the 11 closest states, NC is the only one that is presently for R.

Precisely. They do outnumber us. And they voted today.

If you spend much time on this site, you know that there were many, many who vowed to sit this election out because they did not like Mitt Romney.

From the numbers we’re seeing tonight, I’m thinking they did just that.

You have to recall, too, that this site was virulently, nastily anti-Romney earlier in the year. That damage was never undone.

I never have liked Romney, still don’t, really. But I wish with all my heart that he had won today. I did my part; not sure all FReepers did.

Well said. And like any gift from God, if it’s not cherished and appreciated (or deserved), it can be rescinded.

We will now sit back and, like helpless observers of our own doom, watch as our nation goes further down the path to total destruction and collapse ‘a la Barack Hussein Obama’ and his leftist backers. And yes, it IS apparently what God wants.

Our test and trial and tribulation is only just beginning.

“My compliments to Freepers who spent their free time trying to keep this amazing gift from God.
We were born into an amazing country. It was hard to imagine ever losing it.

But chaos is a universal norm. Order is rare.

We had a republic once. We were unable to keep it.”

Mr. Boehner’s picture could be in the dictionary under” “cowardice”. His Speakership has meant nothing thus far and will continue to be a nothing-burger. But in Mr. Boehner’s shoes, who is there realistically to follow him in the trenches. Nary one, two or three at the most.

Sarcasm tags are no longer required on FR.

Obama has won the election. The numbers were way off.

Extremely disappointing to see 4 more years of Obama’s face every day.

Signing out.

Time for the House (Boehner) to grow some balls, tighten the purse strings and defund Obamacare’s implementation

lol. Good luck. Bonehead already said months ago, it's the law and they will fund it. The House is a tamed poodle that occasionally whimpers.

Here’s a thoutht that just occurred to me - maybe free birth control isn’t such a bad idea after all, since the bulk of them that seem to be screaming that it is their right are likely mentally deficient libs and it would be better for all of us if their reproduction output is minimized .......

That is what I said. Seems like Fraud In Our Elections Go Very Deep Welcome To The USSR!.

The question is, when are we going to stand up to them and say enough is enough? Or will we just politely drop our cloths by the side and walk into the showers to be gassed.

Very few conservatives or any others for that matter bothered to participate in the 2012 Republican primaries. We don’t have the support from our own people.

If we had any balls has small business owners we would drop everyone from our current health plans. Pay the fine, and dump them all onto the government’s lap.

Dont be surprised when that happens. Electing O again shows that we each need to take care of ourselves in any way we can

Purists suck in a general election.
They are to easy to shoot at.
Witness Todd Akins.
I think Romney ran an admirable campaign for the General election.
I think Obama was alienating obtuse and extreme.

Go figure the American public.

Obama craps on their heads for 4 years and they say thank you, can I have some more.

Yeesh

Funny thing is, that’s one thing the single-payer (aka Canadian style) liberals complained about Obamacare. And they were right! If it ends up being cheaper to pay the fine than it is to insure workers, what company will pay for insurance?

Worst, muddle-headed piece of legislation since the 1960s.

The moochers, looters and inner city tribal parasites now outnumber the producers. The economic collapse and resulting chaos and violent civil unrest is now assured. All we can do now is pray and band together with like-minded individuals and hold out against the tide as long as we can. Good luck.

With the understanding that emotions are running high right now, I am going to take a deep breath and say to you, sir or madam, that is the type of statement that sent our country into the death dive we are now experiencing.

If our liberty, and our exceptionalism are not enough for a good man/woman to stand up and continue to fight to the bitter end, then we have indeed become simply another third world unexceptional lump of humanity.

We have allowed our morals, values, and beliefs to be co-opted by some sort of whining guilt ridden seething mass of entitlement seeking sorry excuses for humanity who whimper if the chains around their ankles are tweaked at all.

Shame on us. The shining light on the hill has been extinguished.

I understand Rove's desire to check and check again the numbers. It is simply unbelieveable to those of us who remember the United States of America in her glory days.

Perhaps in our children's or our children's children's lifetimes, some group of idealists will grieve for the country we gave up. And maybe they will rise up. I have lost hope that it will be in my lifetime.

Only high minded liberal companies will keep on keeping on. But yeah... it was NOT muddle headed, it was deliberately focused upon creating a single payer country with its infinite political malleability.

That is what will happen, and it is exactly what Obama wanted to happen. Now that we cannot reverse it, we will all be on Obama-care. Even those who will soon be former small business owners.

Although not perfect, Singapore is a stable, great place to reside. Nearly everyone has a high-wage job, and they discourage welfare. They only offer a barebones safety net and provide no incentives for freeloaders to stick around - unlike here in the USA.
Give it a look. It ain’t as cheap as central America but it is a first class, intellectual place to live.

do not forget in the midst of fear over obamacare and taxes that the foreign threat is real and growing and obama may just wish he’d actually lost this election

California is a one-party Socialist state. It is ALWAYS for the Democrat. That is how they can call it immediately — like calling Idaho for Romney.

At least someone gets it.

We are dealing with a large population of uneducated/slothful/envious/gullible populace, and they are being manipulated by a focused, determined, group of evil elitists bent on the sole goal of gaining and holding POWER.

I’ve had it with the constant cries of “just start praying”.

WRONG.

Pray—but don’t “just” pray. It’s the law of the jungle, folks. Oh, it’s not as bloody, now the savages just elect politicians who are all too happy to use regulators, bureaucrats, and ultimately Men With Guns to loot and pillage, but it’s the same as it ever was. It’s the jungle, only with Ajax.

We can “just” pray, sit like Gandhi and beg for divine intervention while the savages cut your heads off, or you can fight with what you have. Somehow I doubt God wants us to be useless bleating sheep who won’t lift a finger to save ourselves. I’m more willing to bet the God demands that we use every gift and talent at our disposal to help ourselves—that’s why we were given them.

We are dealing with a group of clever, determined, evil people who depend on the naivete of others. Some of you will claim that Satan is behind them. I neither know if that’s true nor do I care. The effect is the same—an evil that must be fought, using *all* of our talents, and that includes our greatest and most unique gift, our intelligence. If that means we have to get into their heads to find their greatest vulnerabilities, so be it. Anything less would be dereliction of duty.
