POTUS and Hillary stop for BBQ

@POTUS and @HillaryClinton stop for BBQ following their campaign event.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- President Obama and Hillary Clinton stopped in Plaza Midwood for a bite following their first joint campaign rally on Tuesday.

When President Obama and Clinton walked inside Midwood Smokehouse off Central Avenue, the patrons in the restaurant began cheering.

The dimly-lit restaurant was filled with customers, one of whom suggested to POTUS a quesadilla when the President asked the staff behind the counter what was good. Clinton suggested they order ribs.

President Obama eventually ordered pork platters, brisket and fires, and a multitude of other sides. POTUS himself paid the bill by credit card.

Here's what @BarackObama and @HillaryClinton ordered from @MidwoodBBQ in Plaza Midwood this afternoon.

Obama and Clinton were at the Charlotte Convention Center Tuesday for a presidential campaign rally. At the event, Obama praised the food found in North Carolina and hinted that he would be making a stop at a local restaurant.

“You’ve got great food. North Carolina’s got some food,” said the president. “In fact, I will find some place to stop and get some food before I head back to D.C.”

Sure enough, the presidential motorcade made its way to the Midwood Smokehouse on Central Avenue in Charlotte immediately following the rally.

Obama and Clinton took photos inside the restaurant and ordered meals to-go. The visit was quick...

Nobody knew he was coming except the owners a few minutes before he got there. The owners were so proud and had pictures all over the place of his visit. Patrons that were already there were not allowed to leave until he was gone -because of the SS.

Hubby and I went there to eat all the time and I remember saying" Can you imagine you were sitting there eating and looking up and there was the President of the USA.

Love me some Obama!

They got it "to go".

On those occasions when they do a photo op that involves actually eating the food, there is a secret service advance team that actually prepares it in the kitchen of the restaurant with the staff.

You honestly don't believe the president eats food prepared by strangers, do you?
