GW Bush was swinging and swaying during The Battle Hymn of the Republic

All while poor Michelle Obama was stuck holding his hand as he swung it back and forth.
It was such a solemn moment, but all my husband could say is "What's he DOING?"

W was easy to spot. He's the only one not wearing black. (He chose a dark blue suit.)
His mama's gonna yell at him.

...wondered what the hell he was doing. With the arm swinging, he looked as if he were about to start marching. Michelle probably wanted to hiss at him, "Stand still, you moron!"

I felt sorry for Michelle and Laura, since they had to hold his hands while he was trying swing his arms.

Everyone looked embarrassed for him.

6. Proof that he's still the clueless, classless idiot we knew him to be.

It was cringeworthy in contrast to everyone else's demeanor.

... and he still can't properly pronounce words with the "sh" sound. He needs to CONTINUE to keep a low profile. And by "low" what I actually mean is "non-existent".

his 'party-time' behavior during the performance of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic", following so closely upon the heels of Pres Obama's eloquent, moving, thought-provoking words, and at such a somber event, was beyond bizarre and an unwelcome reminder of those awful 8 yrs.

I was HORRIFIED!!

7. Didn't see it, but I've long held that people grieve in their own fashion . . .

A fellow brought a shotgun to my grandmother's funeral, a woman keened excessively for my uncle. I once wandered away from a friend's graveside service to walk instead among trees and breathe in the beauty of the land. It's how I'll always remember that friend.

Believe I'll just hold that two Presidents took time to recognize the impact of these senseless deaths and that their participation hopefully eased somewhat the pain of the survivors.

...I thought he might have held Laura & Michelle's hands to steady himself. But it did lead to the hand-holding visual, which worked.

"He's not mine, folks," smile aunts and grandmothers get when the three-year-old goes feral in public.
