In many ways, Donald Trump reminds me of GWB.

He has zero leadership skills, zero knowledge of government or history, and zero idea about how to be the leader of a world power. Like George W. Bush, he will follow along with the advice of the right wing creeps who he installs in positions of real power because he has no clue about how to lead, really. By now, he recognizes that being President is "hard," so he would appoint whomever the right wants to cabinet leadership and take many of his cues from people like Pence.

Trump is a intellectually-impoverished nebbish who pretends to be powerful and successful, but who has nothing to offer from himself as a leader. Like GWB, he would serve as a puppet for others, emerging only to bluster and pretend to be in charge.

We must defeat this useless excuse for leadership. We can't have another GWB presidency. We simply cannot.

Hillary 2016!

1. I agree, his anti-establishment stance is pure BS.

It was the way to go after Jeb! and it worked like a charm. It didn't hurt that he received all of that free air time either.

2. Yes, his pretense of populism was a sham.

He has zero concern for anything or anyone other than himself and his own self-aggrandizement. When faced with actual decisions of importance, he would not even understand what the issues were. Like Bush the Younger, he would simply not have enough information or intelligence to balance decisions in any way.

So, he'd rely on those around him to tell him what to say and what to do, despite his fantasy of being a bold, innovative leader. He would not even recognize that he was taking this country down a path that has already proven to be a failure.

It is a frightening prospect.

4. GWB could at least claim his Texas stint and dad as president gave him experience.

Farcical for sure, but Trump can't even say that.

They have those traits in common, but aside from being born into wealth and affiliation with the GOP they are very different.

I don't think Trump's ego will allow him to consciously be a puppet of others, which makes him even more dangerous because he is likely to reject what little prudent advice might come his way from the Washington establishment.

I was deeply ashamed of my country when GW Bush got a 2nd term, but having Trump in the White House would be orders of magnitude more humiliating. If it wouldn't involve leaving my wife and grandkids, I would seriously consider moving to Canada. I do not want to be associated with an electorate which elevated Donald Trump to the most powerful and prestigious office on the planet.

12. Bush was/is dry-drunk (ex. dancing). Trump is perpetually sleep-deprived. Slow brain damage that way

Trump is a teetotaler.

Trump claims to only need 4 hours sleep a night. There are many people who have trained themselves to fight through the effects, to function somewhat effectively despite lack of sleep, but very very few people who genetically are super efficient sleepers.

For most people getting only 4 hours, cumulative sleep deprivation tends to lead to symptoms similar to dry-drunk and symptoms similar to early-onset Alzheimer's.

I think GWB, while petty and small minded, actually meant to do good for the nation. He was, however, gullible and dependent on information from his 'advisors' who were in fact the ones in charge. They convinced him he was chosen by God to complete his fathers (Bush41) work in Iraq, etc. So, whle he put in place many disastrous policies and actions, I don't think for one second he was the one who actually formulated those deeds. While the right accuses many on the left of being 'useful idiots' I think that GWB was the prototype, and even today perhaps he's not aware of it.

Trump, on the other hand has convinced himself of his fitness to lead, and of the infallibility of his 'instincts.' His is however a vast fool, and a skillful manipulator, of which the worlds power players are rife, will be able to play him like a fiddle. They will be able to goad him, and thereby the US, into countless unwise actions. He is ISIS's dream US President, for one critical example.

So, while both are poor choices for POTUS, they are quite different internally.
