Shouldn't our focus be on the "Cheating Brown-Shirts"?

Of course the speech is an embarrassment, but there is no substance there.

The (R)s breaking their own rules to guarantee Trump the nomination calls into question the legitimacy of his candidacy.

I think everyone has been distracted by a shiny object.

Worse yet, this may have actually been the plan. I don't think Trump is above publicly embarrassing wife #3 if it is convenient for him to do so.

She stole Michelle Obama's speech...and it is a big deal. It makes Trump look bad therefore it is a not a shiny object but a tell on what sort of president he would make...can't even run a campaign or a convention smoothly...I don't understand your objections. These are the sort of things that catch people's eye and make them take a closer look at the candidate...Trump can deal with increased scrutiny...while we would like to believe policy speeches make a huuuuge difference...it often doesn't.
