from canada

i'm not sure the exact number, but there are millions of canadians who are following the american election tonight. i know the change is for your leader, but it's been a ride from up here as well. i started working for positive change by doing campaign calling for hillary clinton during the '08 democratic primaries. i've helped out the obama campaign this year as well. it's a crazy time, and a frustrating one when they say it's a "close race" — i have to watch the same channels!

granted, of course, i have the benefit of watching canadian media personalities take the mick at romney's expense. i know the election hasn't been officially decided yet, but come on. obama's win is not going to take too long to be announced. romney simply didn't pull out enough from his half-hearted supporters.

thank you to every american who voted.
thank you to every american who helped someone else vote.
thank you to every american who supported in any way they could — money, time, or otherwise.
thank you to every american who did what was right!

i'm so happy to see equality and forward-movement protected by vote. the vast majority of canada supports an obama presidency. it's been an exciting campaign! i can't wait to see a montage of the best campaign moments. does anyone know if romney is unlocked from his room with his camp yet? still ignoring the people on the outside? i guess obama doesn't need that "beach house" he is building in hawaii where he was going to go after his almost certain defeat.

i wonder what people are doing over at rasmussen right now?

I was about to post that Obama got Oregon, when i saw on the tv that he had won and just repeated Oh my God about a dozen times. I was so afraid with the obscene amounts of money poured into negative ads, the lying and deliberate misleading by Romney and co., that we didn't have a chance. But money didn't buy this election after all. USA! USA! USA!

P.S.: As for Rasmussen, I think they should be looking for another line of work.

P.P.S.: Romney isn't conceding Ohio. Yet.

i'm looking for a nice picture of the empire state building in blue for a wallpaper on my tablet and phone. i'm half-inclined to believe that romney is either being told he can't concede by his team and is giving in to the pressure or that he is taking the time to write a concession speech that keeps the republican party alive and stops too many reds jumping to something other than the two main parties. losing to obama for a second time around is a big slap in the face, especially given how polarising obama is.

in any case, ohio doesn't matter simply on the merits of what obama won in the rest of the country. even if romney took FL, VA, and OH, he still would not have enough to win. obama taking NV and CO proved invaluable. i suspect concession sometime later.

my best american friend lives in NYC and he got out to vote today. i guess i don't have much more to say there but i want to thank you for supporting the rights of so many invisible minorities in america. needless to say, the economy is much better in obama's hands!

i hear the fireworks and lights across the country are amazing.
