Jeff Flake

Trying to count the ways I hate @timkaine. Drawing a blank. Congrats to a good man and a good friend.

I don't believe Flake has endorsed Trump, either. I could be wrong, though, but remember he is McCain's junior and there is a lot of bad blood between McCain and Trump.

but certainly didn't do so out of malice or hate. That particular species of Republican must hate Trump even more than we do. To see him plow the party under? That must hurt in a very personal way.

Certainly would look good if GOP members said they were moved to support Kaine and so less likely to go foaming at the mouth rabid after the two of them.

is like joe biden. A nice even tempered man who is liked even by his political opponents. The only way to bring sanity back in politics is hope that there are more like him on the other side as well instead of rabid partisans consumed by hate. Apparently the gop is still working on it given what we saw at their convention...

And realizes that if he wants a long career he cannot be tied to these tea party nuts.

He is a political mercenary but he is not dumb and sees the writing on the wall. I have no doubt that if he thought Trump would win in a landslide he would be all in.

And after totaling trashing him, I am glad he is being classy. Because even dicks can act classy if they want to.

He knows his career in Arizona is down the tubes if he gets behind Trump. The Hispanic vote can tip it over if they are mobilized. Personally I feel he's a jerk in politics, but then that's politics. I hope the voters see through it and eventually find a better senator. In reality the Republican hold on many of these red states is not as strong as some believe.
