I spent an 2 hour and a half hours seated next to an "independent" voter from Nebraska ...

the conversation turned to politics and he was "tortured by this election" ... He couldn't "in good faith" cast a vote for, either trump or HRC.

My response was, "I can see why people would have trouble voting for trump as his whole campaign is about breaking stuff, but offers no mention of the fix other than it'll be great! But what troubles you about voting for HRC?"

The "Independent" went on to cite the right wing talking points. After he finished, I asked him, "doesn't it bother you that each and every point you cited to has been unproven or disproven after months, and in the ever evolving Benghazi case, years of investigation, yet you still bring them up?"

The "Independent": "Well ... where they is smoking, there is fire."

Me: "Or, a smoke machine."

Then, the conversation took a predictable turn ...

The "Independent": "Have you ever attended a 'Cowboy Church'?"

Me: "No. But living in Tucson, I've been plenty of 'Cowboy Bars'!"

When in the conversation was the name "Jesus" mentioned or "Have you been saved yet"?

however, I was told repeatedly how the "Independent" lived by the "Golden Rule" and "feared no man" and "only feared the King."

after my Cowboy Bar comment ... I ended up telling him that I am cool with whatever he believes, so long as it does not require that I believe it ... and if so, perhaps he would do me the favor of believing strongly enough for the both of us.

There are some left-leaning indys but fewer than those that lean right. Whenever I hear someone say they are an independent it always trips my spidey sense.

Every interview by media I've seen so far panels of supposedly "undecided voters" seems they faithfully quote emailed talking points and won't really accept any other view.
