Unsung Heroes

I just wanted to start a thread to recognize a few of the people who contributed a lot to the victory tonight, who may not get a lot of publicity/acclaim for it.

Joe Biden- I think Biden's performance in the VP debate was enormous for the President. Imagine if VP Biden had LOST his debate in a manner similar to President Obama's first debate? Instead, Joe Biden put on a very good performance that served to not only energize Democrats, but also arguably rendered Paul Ryan useless to the Romney team (did anyone here anything about Ryan at all in the weeks leading up to the election? complete non-factor).

Bruce Springsteen- I live in Iowa, and Bruce was out in the cold performing last night in Des Moines, after already performing in Columbus earlier in the day. He mentioned during his performance that it was his second time in Iowa in two weeks (having previously been in Dubuque) and his passion for the President is amazing. I am beyond impressed that a 60 plus year old artist could keep up the schedule that the BOSS did. It's also worth mentioning that he was willing to risk alienating close to half his PAYING audience to help re-elect the President.

All those who braved long lines and longer hours to vote- All those who worked the ground game will get an enormous amount of praise (and I hope others can name some specific people who deserve recognition) and deserve every bit of it, but it still came down to people in Florida, Virginia, Ohio, and other states who said "YES" to putting themselves in an uncomfortable position (physically, mentally, or financially) to make sure their voices were heard.

I hope others can add to my list so we can say thanks to the unsung heroes who made this victory a reality.
