(3,739 posts)They need to be THROWN OUT!!
John Poet
(2,510 posts)and certain people tried to blame it on 'the left'....
but I notice it's always protesters on 'the left' that other people here are anxious to 'shut up' or have "THROWN OUT!!"
People need to CALM THE FUCK DOWN,
and let a little "FREE SPEECH" happen.
The sky is not going to fall--- I promise !!
skylucy
(3,739 posts)fall if those of us who aren't impressed with the little tantrum throwers at the convention say what WE think about their antics. The DU can handle it....I promise. HILLARY 2016
John Poet
(2,510 posts)and "calm the fuck down" right back again!
Maybe that should be a campaign slogan against the Trump-Republicans....

(6,716 posts)Very rude to be chanting over an Admiral's speech. It just goes to show you they only care about themselves.

(9,854 posts)And if it was YOUR speech they ruined, you might think it was the worst ten seconds ever. Perhaps if it were ONLY that ten seconds, it wouldn't be so annoying.
If they don't want to be there and they don't want to vote for the Democratic nominee, they can get their asses out of there and back home.
demmiblue
(36,865 posts)Personally, I tuned them out and listened to Rear Adm. John Hutson.
renie408
(9,854 posts)Personally, I found it annoying and rude. And from the looks of it, so do the majority of people here. YOU are OK with it, so the rest of us should be, too??
What an oddly self centered outlook. Maybe they WERE singing the song of YOUR people.
demmiblue
(36,865 posts)Don't sweat the small stuff. It really isn't that big of a deal.
Enjoy the convention... here comes Dr. Biden.
They have been disrespectful way too many times ..... They have interrupted from the beginning and disrespected speeches and it makes me angry and embarrassed at same time ................
sufrommich

(11,605 posts)Something I would like to think Democrats still support.
It's a private venue and disruptors should be thrown out, but saying they should be jailed is way over the top.
John Poet
(2,510 posts)All of this 'Shut down all dissent now' sentiment on DU is making me sick to my stomach.
I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton supports free speech, but it seems many of her most ardent supporters do not agree with her on that!
"Private property" used to be the key argument for segregationists who didn't want to have to serve African-Americans in their hotels and restaurants and rental properties....
It's as if we have a bunch of Spiro Agnews running around DU now, foaming at the mouth over a few brief chants on the convention floor...

Not saying I agree, but I don't think it's a crisis to have two minutes of antiwar chanting.

That seems overly dramatic. Public speakers have to be prepared to deal with disruption. I gave a speech once and had to talk over disruption, it happens.
renie408
(9,854 posts)Since what you referenced was not the overly dramatic statement you alluded to, I am assuming you are backing me up...intentionally or not.

It's all either "Let them interrupt everybody" or "Riot of 1968" for you, huh?? Nothing in between??
