but I notice it's always protesters on 'the left' that other people here are anxious to 'shut up' or have "THROWN OUT!!"

Something I would like to think Democrats still support.

It's a private venue and disruptors should be thrown out, but saying they should be jailed is way over the top.

All of this 'Shut down all dissent now' sentiment on DU is making me sick to my stomach.

I'm pretty sure Hillary Clinton supports free speech, but it seems many of her most ardent supporters do not agree with her on that!

"Private property" used to be the key argument for segregationists who didn't want to have to serve African-Americans in their hotels and restaurants and rental properties....


It's as if we have a bunch of Spiro Agnews running around DU now, foaming at the mouth over a few brief chants on the convention floor...

That seems overly dramatic. Public speakers have to be prepared to deal with disruption. I gave a speech once and had to talk over disruption, it happens.
