By the time he launched into his jabs, we were startled by them -- which gave that that much more power.

Understand that to a Sanders supporter, a little more than median does not mean a lot. But why not focus on my positive part? I like Kaine more than before. We could argue if they are liberal enough all night and I don't think much would be accomplished.

Did 2 things.

1) We all have verbal crutches that we use. Don't even realize it. If you've ever listened to yourself on tape, you'll pick up on it. I used to say "I mean" a ton. You have to train yourself to not do it. Trump's crutch is "Believe Me", which is now a joke. Every time he says it, it'll be a joke. He'll catch himself, it'll be in his head. It's so difficult to undo that.

2) He just left a big, juicy trap for some Republican to say some racist stuff about him speaking in Spanish. Someone is going to say something like, "in this country, we speak American."

Beat down. I told my husband at one point....these comments are gonna leave a mark. Up to now, few people have been able to successfully take tRump on and come out feeling like they were effective. (Little Marco, Lyin' Ted, Low Energy, etc) They always threw a punch and as soon as tRump punched back they retreated to their corner like whipped dogs. After tonight he had better watch out...the gauntlet was thrown down and nobody gave the slightest indication they were afraid of the bully any more. I keep hoping for a total meltdown by tRump (on camera) and given how the tide has shifted it could come any day!

To me, the most effective part of his speech was when he was talking about trusting Hillary and he said, "and with my son deployed overseas, I trust her with OUR SON'S LIFE."

SO POWERFUL!
