I screwed up...

After a long day I fell asleep on the couch right after my son went to sleep, around 7:45. I missed ALL of the speeches live.

But oh man, thank god for the internet, I've been sitting here catching up on them since around midnight, what a fucking night!

I'm fired up and ready to go at 2:15am. How did any of y'all go to sleep after watching what was put on tonight?? I want to run through a wall or something.

I'm ready to eat fire right now for Clinton/Kaine and the idea of keeping Obama's legacy alive.

run as an Indy, Socialist, or Green and risked splitting the vote. He didn't. Instead, he did what so many people agonized over with Nader and got involved in the party instead of working against it.

I get that he didn't pay his dues as an official Dem and work his way up. But he did pay his dues as an ally of the Dems, working with them against the Repubs time and time again. He brought fire to the primaries, new voters to the polls, and new Democrats to the party--including me. What he did has value. That he was a Dino doesn't matter. His insider-yet-outsider status, principles, and vision all served the party and the nation in the long run, and I believe that the party higher ups believe that. I don't think they are just massaging the holdouts or comforting those of us who made the switch. I think they genuinely think well of the Senator from Vermont and appreciate that he did everything he could to start a Revolution without torpedoing the entire party.

I just wish some other people could see that as well.

He wouldn't have debated Hillary on national TV.

An ally is still not a Dem. It does matter a lot. He did not have normal access to the party but had it because the party allowed it. And the party received no thanks and a lot of shit.

I once had a terrified bat in MY living room and it took me HOURS to settle down after I was finally able to coax it out.

It was actually a fascinating creature to see when it took refuge in a ceiling corner to assess its situation. But I was very glad to see it gone.

But about the speeches ... YES!!!

a creaky old Victorian so I became accustomed to the occasional winged uh, guest. I actually grew to like the little guys a great deal, just not, you know, in my house.

Last nights little buddy was just a baby, and the one before just a little older. Tis' the season.

I use a fishing net with a good telescoping handle and then give them a nice escort back outside where they can go eat more mosquitoes. I appreciate all things that eat mosquitoes.

1. I was exhausted after being up very late for three nights in a row;

2. I felt better about the election and that dangerous, traitorous, trump being defeated.
