(36,865 posts)I don't engage in political discussions with them.
It is simply not worth the time or the effort.

(14,167 posts)They haven't really watched the convention, with the exception of the President's speech.
I am pretty much explaining to them that Clinton will be a better education President than Obama. I have provided proof of her education record in Arkansas, which is stellar.
Even though they buy into this whole email server mess, I think Hillary's positions on children and education will win them over.
I think one thing those who are trying to persuade Republicans, Independents or simply anti-Hillary people need to keep in mind is that they should try to sway those people from their opinions. Those who believe Hillary Clinton is a liar are going to continue to believe that, in my opinion -- just like those who believe that the President is a Kenyan socialist still believe that nonsense.
What we have to do -- and what Republicans have traditionally learned how to do -- is to prevent people from voting against their own interests. Anyone in the field of public education voting in their profession's best interests will vote for Hillary Clinton (even if they are conservative in their political orientation).
