http://bobcesca.com/blog-archives/2012/11/how-much-money-did-they-waste.htmlHow much money did the Right Wing waste on this election?
According to the best estimates that are currently available:
Billionaire Casino Mogul spent roughly $53 million during the Republican primary season and the general election.
The Koch Brothers spent approximately $95 million, while Americans for Prosperity, which is largely funded by the Kochs, spent $75 million.
Karl Roves Crossroads spent at least $271 million and possibly as much as $300 million according to the latest FEC filings.
The pro-Romney Super PAC Restore our Future also raised $143 million.
The Romney campaign itself raised $835 million in tandem with the Republican National Committee.
Meanwhile, Linda McMahon spent $100 million of her own money in 2010 and 2012 and lost both times.

(2,781 posts)whatsoever when I say this, but I contributed WAY more than I ever have to political stuff this election, maybe $250 in total, and once in a while thought 'this is crazy, hope we win', etc., but now I feel like it was SO WORTH IT!!!

(50,490 posts)For obscenely wealthy vultures like the Koch's, a few hundred million is mere pocket change.
But even sadder all those millions couldn't have gone to something useful like our schools, our infrastructure, the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts, etc.
What a colossal waste.

(3,145 posts)a few others were very well spent indeed.
The money went into the economy and is now circulating to everyone.
If there had not been an election then these people would have kept it in their pockets.
It's not as if they would have given it to the public good any other way.

WAY too many ads, fliers, etc. People get sick off it real fast. I could wall paper my kitchen with her ads that were sent in the mail. What a waste.
