When entire STATES bigger than that were counted in far less time?

(47,675 posts)If they never count the FL votes, Obama still won. It's really fucked up that only a few states come into play (or get visited for that matter). If we switch to the simplicity of popular vote, we're all on equal grounds. No state has an edge. We each individually have an edge.

It would be very foolish to change from EC to popular vote.

(47,675 posts)Why shouldn't every vote be counted as equal to every other? The EC made sense long ego. It makes no sense now.

Working counting ballots around the clock as Florida remains undecided

Miami-Dade Elections Department officials continued to count absentee ballots Thursday morning as Florida remained the last undecided state in the 2012 election.
As of 9 a.m., around 500 absentee ballots still had to be counted at the elections department's headquarters in Doral, county Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley said.
The counting was expected to end sometime Thursday, she said.
"This is simply a matter of sheer volume, we're dealing with a tremendous amount of paper," Townsley said Thursday. "We have done everything we could possibly do to prepare, again, it's the volume and we're managing it very effectively. We will not rush this process, we will make sure that every vote is counted."
