what's the point of dragging shit out?

Unless, as you imply, certain conditions need to be fulfilled to satisfy certain contractural agreements.

But it should be--he courted his Mexican bride in Mexico, in Spanish. He eloped with her. His family was APPALLED!

He can speak some Spanish; that's one thing I will give the cheating skunk. His kids are fluent too.

Now, Porgie--he can't get much past "Taco y cerveza, por favor"--and then he's out of gas.

A lot of people in Florida deserve this. America deserves to give these wonderful people the right to those electoral votes!

If they never count the FL votes, Obama still won. It's really fucked up that only a few states come into play (or get visited for that matter). If we switch to the simplicity of popular vote, we're all on equal grounds. No state has an edge. We each individually have an edge.

Especially considering disasters like Sandy depressing turnout in some states vs. others.
It would be very foolish to change from EC to popular vote.

Why shouldn't every vote be counted as equal to every other? The EC made sense long ego. It makes no sense now.

from being scanned by the machines. People had to physically copy the votes onto new ballots.

Also, Florida had a lot of absentee and provisional ballots.

Miami-Dade Still Counting Ballots Thursday
Working counting ballots around the clock as Florida remains undecided
By Donna Rapado and Brian Hamacher
| Thursday, Nov 8, 2012 | Updated 10:18 AM EST

Miami-Dade Elections Department officials continued to count absentee ballots Thursday morning as Florida remained the last undecided state in the 2012 election.

As of 9 a.m., around 500 absentee ballots still had to be counted at the elections department's headquarters in Doral, county Supervisor of Elections Penelope Townsley said.

The counting was expected to end sometime Thursday, she said.

"This is simply a matter of sheer volume, we're dealing with a tremendous amount of paper," Townsley said Thursday. "We have done everything we could possibly do to prepare, again, it's the volume and we're managing it very effectively. We will not rush this process, we will make sure that every vote is counted."

I can't help but wonder if this was designed so that FL couldn't be called on election night.
