I just posted this on my Facebook timeline:

Donald Trump's "sacrifices" are on my mind today. How can he compare his life of luxury with the pain of a family who has lost a son in action? How can anyone in good conscience say such a thing? I can find no possible way to forgive that comparison.

I do not normally post on FB about politics, but as a veteran (USAF 1965-69), I honor those who served in combat zones and their families who suffered from anxiety every day they were there. I did not see combat, but knew many who have died in action.

I find Donald Trump's stupid statements about his "sacrifices" to be insulting and beyond the pale. He has made no sacrifices whatsoever that compare to those a Gold Star family has made. I'm disgusted and am now dedicated to seeing that such a man never becomes President and Commander-in-Chief.

Now, I will return to avoiding politics on FB.

I truly never post about politics on FB. I have made an exception for this. Let the chips fall as they may.

when I found they'd joined the Caucasians for Romney Facebook group. Recently another friend had to go when she used the Confederate flag as her profile pic and defended as part of her heritage. When she commented on my posts that darn flag would show up on my page, had to go in and delete them.

Of course he is a Republican hero.

We all know other people's children have to fight their wars.

I could have posted the exact message!

I would have probably added something on his statement about the 'sacrifice' he made about avoiding STD's while others were protecting his whiney little ass.

Mind if I steal this and change to my own service years? (Unlike some <coughMelaniacough>, I always ask permission before using the words of others!

.... he verbally assaulted last night for not letting an unsafe number of people into a rally. The same Trump who'd been rescued by the Marshall's fire dept in a stuck elevator, not the keast bit grateful. Those who came out in defense of Trump could only trash Hillary. That is their only defense. It is all they have since she will renegotiate TPP.

Meanwhile his temperament, judgement and leadership skills expose him as wannabe two-bit dictator, not POTUS.

I post my POV on FB all the time. Frankly, the new rules on DU seem to prohibit me from sharing my political POV on DU any more.

FB gets me outside of the progressive liberal bubble and I get a more accurate picture of the diverse range of opinions festering in our post industrial America. Truly frightening how many favor the orange hitler outside of our liberal bubble.

I, too, am getting really tired of the partisan politics on FB. I just left that platform after reading all the nasty, hateful comments on a post about an upcoming Drumpf visit to Jacksonville (my current home port). You can bet the Mangled Apricot Hellbeast will not be visiting our new national cemetery -- or the one in nearby St Augustine.

Let's home his comments directed toward the Khan family will be the millstone around his neck come November.

And I don't mean, "Well bless your heart," that is spoken with derision and sarcasm in the south. I mean, "bless you," all around for your service, your dedication to keeing trump out of the WH, and your fb post. You inspire us to do more.
