The real problem we have with Trump is...

The crazier he gets and the more the media attacks him, the better it is for his nearly 50% of voters.

Their rationale? America needs a shake-up. The system needs to be rocked.

The more the media demonizes Trump, the more they support him even if they do not support 80% of what he says. They hang on to the 20% and believe that we'll live through it. We'll emerge a better nation.

They hate America that much. I mean... I mean... I mean... first a black President and now we librals want to elect a women?

Their world is being destroyed so they are hell bent on destroying everyone else's.

Hillary's bounce has her 5-9 points ahead of Trump.

And Romney had the full support of the Rs heading into the election.

It isn't close now and it won't be close in November.

I sure hope you're right but we shouldn't underestimate him. We just finished the convention and he is back to getting more free press than any candidate ever.

I hope he bury's himself but I also hope we do not underestimate the anger that exists out there.

He spends months researching his attack points, then goes after people and blindsides them. Most don't take the bait, which he spins into their being nefariously secretive. Why not give them the same courtesy he affords himself in prepping for the questions?

Sorry to yell but really tiring of this meme that we are all gonna sit back and hope for the best.

I for sure am not going to sit on the sidelines and get all defeatist because Michael Moore said something defeatist.

I'm trying to get him to suck it up and vote Hillary if he really wants to stop him, but I'm ok with him voting Gary Johnson since Hillary was never going to get his vote anyway.

His mom, however, has been posting articles lately trying to justify that it's ok to vote for a flawed candidate in trump as long as it means Hillary doesn't get in. It's exactly what you're saying. They know he's a bad candidate, but he's THEIR bad candidate and dammit, they're going to support him.

The good news is, he's definitely not reaching the sensible republicans like my friend. Our strategy, like the President has been taking up now, should be to reach those "good" republicans who won't sacrifice country for party.

getting them to vote Hillary would be excellent, just getting them to NOT vote Trump and vote 3rd party: just as good. I'd have Gary Johnson spend the next 100 days solely in Utah, Arizona, and Georgia. Fuck with Trumps right flank and make the GOP spend money there, as opposed to PA, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Getting them to not vote for Trump because they will never vote for Hillary. I do think we can get a lot of Republicans to abstain from voting even if they will never admit it.

Well, put.

31. Your concern

Aug 2016

Is duly noted. And taken at face value.

But you tipped your hand a little bit too much when you claim that the media is demonizing Trump. I can think of several places I see that term used, and not many of them are progressive or even Democratic.

The media is reporting on the bat shit crazy things the man says. I find it curious that in your mind it amounts to demonizing.

And while being concerned, it is best to use more realistic figures. Trump is nowhere near 50%. In many polls he is under 40%.

There is only one candidate who is polling at or near 50%, and granted in very outlier polls. And that is the Democratic Party Nominee.

Have a nice evening.
