2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOh, where oh where did my candidate go?
I tuned in CNN for a bit yesterday. I have been closely watching the Home page of DU. Lots and lots and lots of noise about Trump. Currently (and for the past little while - as in days) the only time you see Hillary's name mentioned is when somebody is posting the latest poll results.
What is she saying? What is she doing? What policies is she talking about? What kind of crowds is she drawing? Is she campaigning? Is she sitting at home with her feet up figuring she will win by default after the Donald disappears in a nuclear fireball of self-destruction?
This is supposed to be the Democratic Underground, not the Bash the Yammering Yam. Yes we are interested in the latest craziness of the tRumpasaurus, but what about our candidate?
All I heard on CNN was Trump, Trump, Trump the boy is marching (to his own execution) and not a word about Hillary. Same thing here. Can we please talk some about our candidate, along with the tRump bashing? Don't get me wrong, I get just as much satisfaction out of watching Golden Orange show his advisors the best way to self-destruct. But I'd like to hear just a little about Hillary as well.

(456 posts)The media is not interested in positive news. Hillary isn't on the stomp making gaffs. She gives her basic stomp speech reporters on the trail have heard many times. She does need to do more one on one interviews. She's better in that setting imo.

Touring a local "Knotty" tie factory as setup for her new commercial about The Donald's outsourcing.
Fwiw, I kinda noticed our candidate was missing too, but she has pretty good name and face recognition. I'm pretty sure her campaign didn't mind 6-8 trumpster fires all at once drawing off attention.
A talking head was just lamenting how impossible it was to cover the "news" when everything was happening at once. The stress of all these world-shaking events coming at once was obvious. If I could, I would have explained that blowing titillating sillinesses, like asking a mother to take her baby out, up into major entertainments to bill 2 and even 3 24-hour cycles isn't journalism.

Hey with Duh Donald having days like that maybe they don't need to cover Hillary ...no they do. I guess she didn't have an event yesterday.

(4,449 posts)Which it certainly does, the best thing a campaign can do is to make the election a referendum on the other party's candidate and his flaws.
