Would someone please remind Hillary of something Bernie told her a while back

We're sick and tired of hearing about your DAMN emails!!!! So stop talking about them.

Here's why:

1. You weren't indicted.

2. You're leading in the Polls.

3. Your favorables/unfavorables are better than Trumps even though the media hates to mention this SMALL fact.

4. You have Repubs jumping ship and saying that they're going to vote for you and some are even going to fund raise for you.

5. Rule No. 1. When you're ahead, Stop Talking. Particularly about your DAMN emails!!!!

6. The people who are voting for you, don't care about your DAMN emails!!!

7. Those who care about the emails are not voting for you. But HEY!!! You're still leading in the polls.

8. You're not going to convince anyone in No. 7 (above) in 30 seconds or less that Comey cleared you; so stop trying.

9. The next time someone asks you about your DAMN emails say this: "I've said all I'm going to say about the emails and I'm moving on. Like everyone else, I've made mistakes in my life. But this nation has real problems and I want to talk about the future not the past".

10. And then, unless you're talking to the FBI, just don't ever mention them again. Repugs do it all the time.

If someone here on DU has a direct connection to Hillary, please see that she gets this. Please don't anyone respond and tell me that "Hillary is right. Comey exhonerated her." This is the court of public opinion where Facts don't always matter. She can't put this matter behind her if she keeps bringing it up at her rallys and keep giving members of the "Media" reason to revisit her "honesty and trustworthiness".

I'm not a big fan of Welker.

Before the press conference started, she stood on stage saying she was so thankful to HRC for coming and participating and then she asked her that question. A question Clinton's been asked 985687984576 times before; Kristin Welker asked it knowing it would cause a media shit storm again, regardless of how she answered.

You should aim your stuff at the media. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT GOES TO THEIR NEED TO LIE ABOUT HER.

ETA: She was only talking about it today because she was asked questions. I assume you think she should just say "SHUT UP ABOUT IT" OR 'I WON'T ANSWER THAT'.

than it is to convince ONE candidate to stop talking about something that she doesn't need to talk about anymore, because We're with HER. She does so at her peril.

Update. I think my original response states what an appropriate response would be; and it's not rude nor does it make her sound like a jerk. But it makes the point crystal clear and it allows her to pivot to another topic without having to go there.

We all decide to DU them every damn time they ask about the emails, or whine "What are you doing about people who don't trust you?" Or any of the other drearily mindless memes the media has perpetuated for 25 years.

Every news station has a Viewer Comments line. Every talking head has an email address. Use them. Tell the morons over and over that you are aware of the facts and that they are repeating memes and not facts.

If enough of us do this, their behavior will change. Not overnight, but it will.

Do you really think it would work if she said, "I don't want to talk about that."

Sheesh. She was giving a press conference. They asked her a question. She's pretty much COMPELLED to answer it, and answer it in as full detail as possible so that, hopefully, they won't KEEP asking her again and again. But of course, they will. And she'll have to answer again.

That's the way the world works. She has to deal with it, and so do you.

for someone not named Hillary Clinton. The story would have been over long ago if this were anyone else.

Remember Hillary Clinton is a Secretary of State blamed for not ordering a military response when an American consulate was attacked.

When was the last time that a SOS was blamed for an embassy attack?
When was the last time that a SOS was criticized for not giving military orders, which, by the way, she has no authority to give?

There are different rules for Hillary. We never move on with her.

10. Media should stop
Fri Aug 5, 2016, 09:18 PM
Aug 2016

The media asks the same questions over and over about the emails and then they say she is lying still. I am sick of it. No one uses the exact same words to talk about the same thing for a whole year. They are nitpicking individual words.

What would happen if Hillary just stopped answering? I sent an email to the campaign site (only the janitor read it I am sure) to ask her to respond: "Asked and answered 1,000 times. Next question."

I agree that both MSNBC and CNN are the worst at it, but so are all TV and online political sites too. Meaning Vox, thedailybeast, slate, etc, etc.
I have asked friends who say she should just "tell the truth" about the emails if her getting down on her knees and begging forgiveness would make them feel better. Not really, they say. "We want the truth!"
What truth? There is no way she could say the truth: that she hoped to keep the $%+?# out of her state business. She could say that her emails were not hacked, contrary to the actual state dept emails.
I have been looking for a place to vent. Thanks.

She should call a halt to it by answering all future questions about the "damn emails" with THAT. There's certainly enough of a record of her many statements and answers about this. Let the media do some research, for a change. All they're doing at this point is trawling - or maybe the better word is TROLLING for potentially spicy tidbits.

She will win the general if they do the same. The media will continue to ask about them. She is a brilliant strategic candidate and the media needs to deflect in order to make it a horse race. They are not on our side and are failing miserably. The longer it goes the more people will recognize it as bullshit just from the duration alone. This tactic against Clinton has a history of failing. They just can't help themselves.
