I'm going to be completely honest about this, <your name>: We did not expect Donald Trump to have such a great fundraising month in July.

He brought in over $80 million, which is pretty damn serious -- the kind of money that will allow him to run a real campaign to go toe-to-toe with ours. We have to respond by making sure we have the resources to beat him. Can you chip in <$XX> right now?

We now have to face the fact that Donald Trump could start out-raising us. While we’ve been working for more than a year to build and grow our grassroots support (and done some incredible things!), Trump's supporters are stepping up, and those numbers are just going to keep growing.

We’ve always known that he could win this election, and this is another reason why that might happen.
