That would be so great/

(24 posts)But my heart is not happy with where I put my money on that one.
On the bright side, Texas is going to have to deal with President Clinton six months from now. And then the idiots in the state government will have to deal with her SCOTUS appointees, and then the real fun begins.

(33,150 posts)Hollywood, Rodeo Drive, Malibu, Venice, Burbank, Universal City. There were A LOT of Bernie stickers on cars. If we got 80% of those folks we're in damn great shape. That being said. I live in the reddest part of California and I have yet to see even one trump sticker or sign anywhere despite the fact he visited during the primary.

It worked in the primaries and will again.

(11,949 posts)And notice my site name!
We will get Florida, NC, Virginia and if we are really, really lucky GA.
We are another generation from getting the gulf south. Which makes me so sad as I love the region to my core.

(11,949 posts)But I lived in the Red Stick till I was 10.
I live in Central Florida and spend all my vacation time on the gulf coast unless we are going overseas to my grandmere's ancestral home.
Grandmother from Thibodaux. First language was French.
Grew up fishing, crabbing and shrimping in the bayous. Pont Au Chein and Bayou Bleu specifically.
There are some really good democrats that can skin a buck and run a trot line!
And you? I assume you are a NOLA native by your handle. Or from the outliers cities?

(42,023 posts)I don't think the bayou ever leaves you. I like the beaches okay, but they're not the best. The bayous, now, that's another world. Home.

(9,757 posts)Louisiana is a dim possibility, and Florida is (I hope!) going to vote Democratic as it did in 2008 and 2012. Here in Mississippi, the second question you get asked, after "Which Baptist church do you attend?" is "Who are you going to vote for in the Republican primary?"
As for the Pacific states, I think we'll lose Alaska's 3 electoral votes but carry Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, and California. The east coast? I would be ecstatic if my native state, Georgia, returned to the Democratic fold. South Carolina, I fear, is pretty much a lost cause for another generation.

(21,786 posts)Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina? Not likely. Florida is probable, Georgia is possible.

(68,868 posts)Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama are a veritable murderers' row of white nationalist majorities.

(79 posts)A little optimistic, but I do think a lot of areas not normally blue are in play. I will say even in the red state I live in. I have seen very little pro Trump anything.
Honislty I think most GOP voters will just simply stay home in November. At least that's what I've gathered from talking to people I know that normally vote GOP.
