******BREAKING***** Clinton Opens Up Double-Digit Lead Over Trump

Hillary Clinton now holds a 10-point lead over Donald Trump, 51 percent to 41 percent, according to results from the latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll

Clinton's double-digit lead is up from an 8-point gap last week. The 10-point margin is the biggest spread in the tracking poll since the two-way general election match-up was first compared in early May.

I've been saying that it's very possible that the average gets to double digits soon. The timing of Susan Collins, the 52 Rep officials, and General McCaffery's rebukes is going to ensure that this race is all about Trump being unfit for another cycle.

One poll that is giving the same message as several other polls this week is only one poll three months (3 months) before the only poll that counts: Election Day. So sure, it is good news, but only a tiny bit of incremental good news.

Nothing I wrote said it is bad news.

My only motive here was to urge maintaining perspective and be wary of complacency.

and that is a fact...demoralizing voters hurts way more than so-called complacency. It would just be nice if every bit of good news was not met with a but....get out the vote....but don't get complacent....but Trump will be replaced and if we have xyz candidate why the election will be much closer or we will lose(one of the other)...buts and more buts...I would not be surprised if the election does not tighten up. The GOP is concerned about courts just as we are...and some will vote for Trump even if they don't like him in the end...but let's enjoy the here and now.

that trump brought in new voters. He brought in new primary voters, but those were people who reliably voted in the general, but not the primaries. There is no surge in new voter registration among those identified as rep or rep leaning indies. The surges are largely among minorities and youth.

People can't vote if they don't register, and trump has no machinery to identify unregistered voters and get them to the polls.

BUT, I agree, enjoy the polls but don't believe them. Be afraid, be very afraid. You can almost smell the october surprise cooking over in putins back yard. fabricated and salted to be sure, but he is cooking a big feast.

Unless Trump has really broken the world, the election will be close.

I think we are definitely NOT going to become apathetic/complacent during this election. Most of us are or plan to be very busy phone banking, going door to door etc. But I guess there's no harm in repeating the obvious.

Really, you don't find the 2014 election loses do to complacency? I will hope after 2016, when Ms Clinton is president, we back her up in 2018.... because somewhere along the tracks, 2014 was a shit election for Mr. Obama.

That we haven't seen Hillary (on TV) since the convention.

That's probably for the best. I keep seeing anti-Trump TV ads.

I think that's a better way to go than spend a bunch of time on TV making statements that the press will attack.

Put Trump on his heels, let him defend the attacks. I think that's a good strategy.

Avoid the national talking heads, control the message with commercials, and campaign for congressional candidates (local television).

The more our candidate appears on national television, the more they bad mouth her.

Look at Trump, he's trying to get on TV and they make him look bad. It's what they do, you'd have to be a fool to feed into it.

Perhaps it wasn't wise to insult a Gold Star family? The members of the military are highly revered in this country, across the entire political spectrum, from Republicans to Democrats. Then again, Donald was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and chickened out of military service numerous times, so it's not surprising he doesn't realize this.

I wonder how Trump will further decrease his chances of victory? Insult more minorities as part of his "outreach" to them?
