(15,429 posts)Even if he was a lowly nominee for a Congressional seat, being paid to quit the race would be an illegal quid pro quo.

(115,900 posts)Money for him is merely evidence of his greatness. If he accepted a payoff to quit, that wouldn't be ego money that he acquired through "the best" business deals; it would be an admission that his party wants him gone - therefore he's not the greatest. His narcissism wouldn't be able to tolerate anything like that. Trump is not going to quit, even for a lot of money.

IMO, he is in hock for billions. It is all about the money.

(115,900 posts)all of whom seem to be doing just fine anyhow. Trump cares about Trump, period. Nobody knows how much money he has - almost certainly a lot less than he claims, but I doubt he's broke.

(37,428 posts)He's a grifter, so he is trying to get that money back any way he can. If he has to swallow losing to Clinton, he's damned sure going to make someone else pay for it.

(37,428 posts)...but I refuse to believe he's not up to something, particularly because it looks like he'll quit.

(37,428 posts)The logical question then becomes: If hes got all this money, and hes not spending it on Ads, and hes not spending it on building a field campaign...what is he doing with all that money?
In the first diary, Hunter puts the issue succinctly.
Perhaps he doesn't intend to spend any of those campaign donations on adsor anything else. Perhaps someone has let him in on the grandest grift of all time: After your supporters willingly give you their money, you don't have to give it back.
I think when it comes to Trump, deep suspicion is warranted. We know from what few FEC filings there have been, that Trump the Presidential candidate has already been a boon for Trump the rentier, to the tune of $6 million....

(146,338 posts)I hear they're hiring school bus drivers pretty much everywhere. Decent pay, but weird split shift hours. He's a little old, but they'll hire just about anyone right now, and will even train people to help them get their Class B license.

(146,338 posts)I don't think that's happening, frankly. But, apparently you do. I think you're way off-base with that prediction.

If it's the only bus available, and all your cars are autonomous vehicles the kids will love it.
They will probably make it part of teachers job to ride the bus and monitor the kids, without pay of course.
