My understanding is that each candidate is required to receive the same info.

Neither presumptive nominee gets the same briefing as the POTUS.

Most of what they get you can find in a newspaper, but a little of it is unpublished information.

Once one of them becomes President Select, then they get a full on briefing. This was changed during the Bush to Obama transition. Getting a full briefing is suppose to make the transition smoother.

And it would not surprise me in the least if there is decoy piece of intelligence that was inserted into his brief that was carefully chosen to be easily identified should it be shared with outside parties. Something not obvious, but something that Putin would surely ask Trump for and act on.

They are setting Trump up, if he gives intel to Putin he will end up in prison.
