Walker: Clinton's Call For Police Reform Only 'Inflaming' Milwaukee Unrest

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday that Hillary Clinton’s remarks about police rebuilding trust in their communities is only “inflaming the situation” after multiple nights of protests in Milwaukee, where police fatally shot a man fleeing a traffic stop this weekend.

Asked for his response to Clinton's remarks in an interview on Fox News, the Republican governor said, “I think comments like that are just inflaming the situation.”

"The people who live in the neighborhood want police in Milwaukee and the sheriff's department to step up and protect them. They didn't want the criminals who were doing those actions against those businesses to do that,” he continued. “And I think statements like that and the lack of leadership we have had from the President on this issue only inflame the situation.”

Speaking in Pennsylvania on Monday, Clinton addressed the protests by saying there’s “urgent work to do to rebuild trust between police and communities.”
