GOP Senator Who Once Called Trump A 'Buffoon' Now Says He'll Vote For Him

Despite his initial hesitation, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) is now officially on the Trump train, according to Colorado newspaper The Gazette.

During a fundraising event Friday for the Colorado Republican Party, Gardner told supporters that he feels it's important to elect Republicans on every part of the ticket, including the top.

"That's why I'm voting Republican up and down the ticket. A Republican president will make a difference, even a Republican president named Donald Trump," Gardner said, according to the report.

While his statement of support for Trump was lukewarm, it's a far cry from his feud with the GOP nominee, in which he called Trump "a buffoon" and his war of Twitter words following the Colorado GOP convention, which Trump said had been rigged:
