Kyle Griffin ?@kylegriffin1
Trump Effect: Dems up 9 in generic Congressional race, could lead to a downballot landslide -- per Economist/YouGov.

IF THE ELECTION FOR CONGRESS WERE BEING HELD TODAY:

My rep and senator are safe. Solid blue.

It would be wonderful if someone, or many DU someones, could compile a list of reps and Senators we should be helping, financially and with phone banking.

1) a serious narrowing of Ryan's numerical advantage

2) including 10-20 teabaggers getting kicked out

3) and a new determination by the Party players to no longer let the teabaggers drive the bus.

That last point assumes some intelligence that people like McConnell and Ryan have not yet demonstrated. But this has the potential to a real change. If they don't want to feed the Trump monster -- or I should say, if they want to take back control of their party, they can't allow the teabaggers to drive the agenda anymore.

And the only alternative to letting the teabaggers control everything is to compromise with Democrats.

I know a lot of people will say things are so divided that compromise is impossible. Answer me this. When was the last time you heard the name Grover Norquist? He has become Mr. Irrelevant in DC. And the Kochs are losing influence too, with the GOP losing every Presidential race since those guys kicked into high gear. McConnell has just wasted 8 years opposing everything and what did he accomplish? He got Hillary elected. Ya think some people are going to be questioning whether they want to do the same thing for another 8 years and then get Julian Castro (or insert your favorite Dem name here) elected through 2032?
