2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDU is a great place to post about the 2016 Presidential Election Race.
However, if you find negative things about the Democratic nominee somewhere online, please take a minute to consider the source. If it's an opponent's statement or is from a right-wing or anti-Democratic website, why post it here?
It's easy to find all sorts of crap written about our candidate online. Anyone can search for negative things about her. Posting them here, though, is likely to result in people being unhappy with such posts.
Not everything found on the Internet is true, folks. Not everything needs to come to DU. Truly.

(2,108 posts)Of course we don't want to get caught off guard by remaining in a bubble. But hell, by this time we know what the haters think of her.
It's not constructive criticism to say hey, look what these haters are saying now.
That's not really a conversation of politics. It's sensationalism in a way...
Good post MM ~

(146,288 posts)most people use when they seek out information to post here. I'm always shocked when an unreliable, heavily biased source shows up here.

(60,334 posts)The quality of sources and the demand by the users to only use quality, factual sources.
It became a little wild during the primaries, hopefully we can pull that back.

(146,288 posts)we see it. When an OP is posted that has an unreliable source, individual DUers should point that out. Alerting doesn't work, because not enough people recognize whether a given source is reliable or not. I think DUers want reliable sourcing, but it can be difficult to keep track of which sources are worth reading and which are best ignored.
So, when I see a crappy source being used, I try to say something about it.
