The CBO is projecting that the president’s new budget would crush the deficit to almost zero by 2017. Via Kevin Drum, here’s the chart.

Also, please note the “actual” side of the chart showing that the deficit has gone down since the president was inaugurated. Put another way: the president has reduced the deficit.

from 1992 to 2001 during Clinton's term where he cleaned up the fiscal mess of Reagan and Bush. Then Bush junior stepped in and took all the money out of the piggy bank. And now, it's another democrat who is working on making a positive slope in the deficit. And this time, he's working against a House that is actively trying to make the deficit worse to hurt the president's chances at re-election.

Any graph that does not show that line going back up to 0% deficit in a few short years is unacceptable. It's going to be ugly when a million federal employees are laid off and all remaining get their pensions and benefits cut drastically. We are headed down the same path as Greece and very quickly.
