2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI was listening to some of the Sunday programs
and it is clear to me that hosts and pundits really really want Trump to do better so that they have a "real" race. Kinda reminded me of the people in the streets calling "Jump!" to a suicidal person.
OK, so "both are flawed," - they still are trying to compare both; that many are seeking a third alternative, speculating about the chances of the other two to get more percentage.... but really really you do know that at the end it would be either Trump or Hillary. But how else will they fill their time until November?
One interesting segment, though, two reporters (WaPo?) have a new book about Trump and they pointed that Trump has been pounding his chest that, as a "businessman" he knows who to choose the people working for him. Yet, he cannot even choose people to run his campaign..
Another Hillary ad comparing and contrasting?

(34,661 posts)has been all in with the Rethug Party for years in selecting and promoting their Candidate. It is pretty hard to screw up a two car funeral, but, the Media and their kissy face friends at RNC are doing a slow motion train wreck and they are pulling out all stops to save face.
Just a thought, how far ahead would Ms.Clinton be if she had been given all these freebies? Things would have been done by the Fourth of July.

(27,315 posts)Both CNN and ABC were carrying this meme (and may be others, but those two were enough for me).
This is a problem because somebody can learn, but a corrupt person stays corrupt, so it is urgent that somebody answers this meme. First, Trump's business loans from China (and potentially Russia) are a problem that should be discussed openly.
But I also wished that the Clinton campaign found an answer. Mook did as well as he could (I saw him on ABC), but we need a lot more Democrats on TV because the media are being soft on Trump these days. I have a hard time understanding how Stephanopoulos did not laugh at Conway's face when she said Trump did not hurl personal insults. Seriously.

(17,276 posts)I watched that and Stephanopoulis and I'd say FTN is better, less CNN-like. I also like Washington Week on PBS.
It is true that running a campaign shows how you would be president to a large extent! Are you well organized or chaotic? Do you have a plan or do you shoot from the hip? Can you be disciplined, can you deal well with people who don't agree with you, can you rise above petty stuff?
I think we can give Trump a failing grade there.
