Beck & Conway Show How They Manipulate the Liberal Media
So, it was RW nutball guest evening on MSNBC, with Kellyann Conway making an extended appearance on Rachel and Glenn Beck making an appearance on Lawrence. Both were first-time visits for the RWers.
Beck was on to bash Trump, which is the current position he takes on the RW. Lawrence was cordial and pleasant, because why not be when a RW icon is busy bashing another RWer? But Beck is an opportunist if he's anything, so he used his appearance to simultaneously bash the left, notably when he opined that it was "bullcrap" when liberal commentators in the past have accused Rs of using dog whistles to rile up their base. "Trump is using real dog whistles" quoth Beck...so forget about all those other Rs who have done the same thing in the past. They weren't.
O'Donnell - pleased with himself for having landed the interview - said nothing to challenge Beck on this obvious rewrite of history, a re-write that I have heard from any number of RW shills in the past week. What sounds like an original thought in isolation is revealed as just another RW talking point in aggregate.
Conway on Rachel was more masterful than Beck, putting on a smiling face, speaking softly and nonconfrontationally - Rachel looked like she was having a bromance. In between Conway's quasi mea culpi for Trump, she dropped numerous blatant lies, like those she told about the CGI. And again, the lies went unchallenged by Rachel, who was giddy that she had landed an interview with a RW guest like Conway. While Rachel thought she was holding Conway's feet to the flames of Trump's now-discarded immigration policy, Conway was smiling her way through a bevy of lies told about Hillary Clinton, all of them unchallenged by Ms Rhodes Scholar.
I wasn't impressed.
