That is the title of the article and not an encouragement to act on it as a suggestion. Pick out the state you are in and pass info on to others who may need it.

Dunno if I could resist voting against Trump three times, if I still could.

(9,070 posts)My right-wing retired neighbors are typical. Their daughter is a Fl lawyer. He complains all the time about illegal voters - and he is proud to have voted against Obama. FL passed this new ID requirement as noted in the OP:
Who: Any U.S. citizen age 18 or older on or before Election Day who is a Florida resident.
How to register: You can fill out a voter registration form here, but you will need to either mail it in or take in person to a DMV, a voter registration center, or a public library. You must register by Oct. 10. You will need to supply a driver's license, state ID, birth certificate, or other form of ID to register. Expect at least two weeks to receive a voter ID card in return.
ID required to vote? Yes, you will need a valid photo ID with a signature or a photo ID without a signature (like a passport) and another form of ID with a signature (such as a credit card) in order to vote.
Voting early/absentee: Early voting will be available across the state from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3. Some sites across the state will allow early voting even earlier than that, so check with your county starting Oct. 8 to see what your options are.
Even though they are both in their 80s and have voted for decades, neither could get registered!!! He was born in Germany, fled to Argentina in WWII, went to school at MIT in the 40s, and worked for the US government as a rocket scientist - but had no valid birth certificate. She was born on a farm at home in Kansas at home and only had a church announcement. She doesn't drive. It took the lawyer/daughter about 6 months and hundreds of dollars to get them registered and IDs to vote!!
