This is excellent. We have a duty to do all we can to treat mental health problems before they become tragedies.

Clinton’s campaign released a multi-pronged approach to mental health care on Monday, aimed at ensuring that Americans would no longer separate mental health from physical health in terms of access, care and quality of treatment.

The Democratic presidential nominee’s agenda would focus on early diagnosis and intervention and create a national initiative for suicide prevention. ... Clinton’s proposal would also aim to enforce mental health parity laws and provide training to law enforcement officers to deal with people grappling with mental health problems while prioritizing treatment over jail for low-level offenders.

The entire reality tv dumbed down rapid News cycling needs to be under psychiatric critical care.

And I am serious.
The result of GW's ownership society policy.

treatment for individuals who are falling through that particular crack now. Those who go untreated because they refuse all treatment until they eventually suffer complete self-destruction; or destroy others.

At least not in the way we think of as solved. Treatment often doesn't work, sadly, or people are unable for one reason or another to use it. Letting go of the responsibility of cure is very hard. It leaves you with difficult choices.

But I think we owe those persons more than our current approach as a society which is to collectively throw up our hands and say, "oh well."

I'm confident we can do better for these vulnerable people, if we try.
