2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumOne more time: BLESS Joy Reid for calling out bigotry!
She's been subbing for Chris Hayes today and had a couple of the most gobsmacking moments I've ever seen with Trump surrogates. Thank goodness she freaked out almost as much as I did, with the remaining loyals out of Trump's Latino advisors and surrogates.
She asked one to please stop referring to immigrants as "illegals" and he flatly refused, even after she said she was personally offended by it. and she called out the other for saying "My culture is a dominant culture and there will be taco trucks on every corner" when defending Trump's antagonistic attitude toward Mexican immigrants. I'm hoping I can find footage somewhere because his clear hatred for Mexico was on such display I was stunned.
I believe the Latino ship has officially sailed. It would be a miracle if he got any support if these are the remaining loyalists.
And Joy? She ROCKS.

(3,975 posts)and they already had Melissa Harris Perry on the weekend. Well, you know what happened there. Now, our magnificent Joy is back and it is wonderful for us. Tweety and now Heilman's show has been having Ann Coulter on at least once a week. I want to see Joy take Vampira of the North on. That would be something.

Now let's go to Donald Trump after being fined for illegal acts in discriminating in renting his apartments. Thanks to Cortes definition, Trump should get a new appellation - "illegal." I think it should fit him well.

(5,008 posts)has sailed. They were saying in the polls Trump is getting 22% of the Latino vote. How is this possible? African Americans see Trump for who he is (a racist). Why can't a higher percentage of Latinos see that? I simply do not understand it.
