He seems to be exclusively a creature of appetite, and his various appetites have always been soothed by nannies and sycophants. He therefore has never wanted anything that wasn't given to him with little or no effort on his part. He doesn't really know how to want, and has never had to work for what he wanted.

We may see him incredulous at losing, and perhaps in some stupid last-minute scramble that will fall flat, but he won't change course and there's not time enough for the GOP megadonors to make him palatable. I agree that he won't know how to handle losing badly in publuc, and still think he's working on an excuse to quit. Again.

He's already dog-whistled a few things at them - that if he loses, it will be because of fraud, implied violence would be necessary, etc.

I think his original plan was to come in a strong second and use that to promote his business.

But at some point along the way his ego got to him and now he wants to win.

I don't feel confident that he will concede gracefully, or even at all.

It's naive to think otherwise.

I recall speculation early on that he was getting into the race to benefit Hillary Clinton. Never quite figured out the logic there, but that was wishful thinking.

Keep in mind he dabbled at running for President several times in the past, but never had a serious campaign until last year. Not that he's running what would normally be considered a serious campaign, but he was able to garner enough votes to outlast the ludicrously large Republican starting field.

I believe that he views running, and were he to win, governing, as just another version of his reality shows. He does not have any clue about the normal give and take of politics. I suspect he thinks he could just yell "You're fired!" at anyone, even as President, and they'd just go away. Well, he can't fire Supreme Court Justices. Or Senators, or most federal employees. He could certainly fire members of his cabinet, and it would be almost amusing to watch it happen. Not, I hasten to add, to I for one moment actually want to see him in office.

Others have pointed out that he's had a completely privileged life, never had to compete on a fair playing field for anything. I mean, anyone who thinks attending a military school is comparable to serving in a war zone, is somewhat delusional. But we already know that about him, don't we?

Oh, and there's no chance whatsoever he'll withdraw before election day. He'll go down in flames, making Karl Rove's meltdown four years ago look like nothing.

He is fuelled by the passionate desire NOT TO LOSE. A subtle difference, but kind of explains his reactionary way of campaigning.

If you want to win, it implies you have some sort of proactive agenda that you want to accomplish, and I don't know that he has any other than not losing, and some ephemeral notion of "Making America Great Again."

under and over the ground with all kinds of cool sensors!

The best wall ever!

And millions of tourists from all over the world will visit here just to gaze on it in awe.

And they'll call it the Great Wall of Trump and it will be named one of the manmade wonders of the world!

This is how he falls asleep at night, counting the miles of his Great Wall.
