That feeling you get when your Reagan-loving father-in-law says the Dems have to take the House --

Makes you think everything's going to be all right.

Oh, he's been drifting center for a decade, even voted for Obama last time (after calling him a poor manager, for which I took him to task on the numbers). But he's been a hardcore old-school conservative since his days in the navy, and battled Greenpeace over double-hulled ships for Chevron. A serious righty, and we've bumped heads more than a few times over the many years I've been married to his lovely daughter.

He fears Donald Trump, and he thinks the GOP has damaged the nation. To have this man look me in the eyes and say that he hoped the Dems sweep this election so that we can all actually get back to work --

Cannot. Tell you. How weird. That is.

Well, he's proven himself by me. I married well. I think I'll keep him.

GO DEMS GO.

Who is clearly unfit to be president. Rather than voting his heart your father-in-law is voting smart.

sounds like he's a stand-up guy and really wants what's best for the country. I wonder if there are other folks out there like him.

Watching tRump flail his tiny hands, sputter and repeat himself makes it obvious he is NOT fit to be President. No class, no "couth" no intelligence - he is a dud.

for what must have been a painful realization that today's party must crash before it can be reborn.

Please let there be many more people quietly reaching the same conclusions, or at very least that they simply cannot vote for Trump.

be two sweet older ladies in the audience behind him. (One on each side)
They look like retired school teachers or librarians to or something like that. How would two decent people like this buy into the hate he is selling?
Have your father in law talk some sense into them!

Do keep him, moderate Republicans are going the way of the dwindling number of elephants in both Asia and Africa. They are hunted for their weakness in tolerating the slide to the most intolerant in their party. Elephants do have a memory and mourn their dead.
