Am severely confused about this election- and recent polling

How is it that Trump is tied or (gulp) slightly leading Hillary in national polling now and we're supposed to act concerned by this, but he is barely clinging to leads in deep red states like Georgia and Arizona that NEVER go Democratic in Presidential election, not to mention his documented lack of a campaign apparatus?

On average he is down about 3 points nationally, which means some polls Godhumor Sep 2016 #1

the one poll showing him ahead nationally was a poorly designed outlier. unblock Sep 2016 #2

Will show him slightly leading and some will show him down mid to high single digits.

Just how polling works.

we're still in a commanding position.

plenty of work to do still, but we're still in a better position any democrat has been in at this stage since 1996.
