So, Who is this Boris Epshteyn - Trump Shill?

Here's a note from politico.com:

He is currently a Managing Director of Business and Legal Affairs at a boutique investment bank concentrating on private placements, public offerings and venture capital transactions.

Mr. Epshteyn graduated from Georgetown University Law Center and is an attorney licensed in New York and New Jersey with expertise in finance, bankruptcy and international law.

He has been involved in researching, writing and publishing numerous scholarly articles with the Georgetown Journal of International Law. Mr. Epshteyn emigrated to the United States in 1993 from Moscow, Russia, is a fluent Russian speaker and is very well-versed in all aspects of current events, history, economics and international politics.

I haven't found a complete biography of him. He came to this country as a Russian immigrant in 1993. His accent is still quite strong. I know no more about him, frankly.

The article is well worth reading, but here's an excerpt:

And there’s also Boris Epshteyn, a Trump surrogate who frequently appears on television and describes himself as a senior adviser to the campaign. The Russia-born investment banker and attorney moderated a panel at an October 2013 conference in New York City called “Invest in Moscow!” The panel was mainly comprised of Moscow city government officials, like Sergey Cheremin, a city minister who heads Moscow’s foreign economic and international relations department.

(snip)

“In Russia, where business and the state are so closely linked, business dealings automatically imply ties to people high up in government as well,” said Kathryn Stoner, an expert in U.S.-Russia relations at Stanford University.

In keeping with that pattern, Epshteyn has adopted some of the Russian government’s narrative about its annexation of Crimea, Ukraine’s southern peninsula, in 2014. The international community does not recognize Crimea as part of Russia, given the illegal nature of its acquisition of the territory.

and/or those close to him.

It really does look like Donny is in pretty deep with the Russians. He'd better be careful with them, if he can't turn this little election stunt into proper gold, he's likely to fare rather poorly. Perhaps even come to an unfortunate end.
