(4,234 posts)against Trump for failing to pay the paint company (a Mom and Pop affair I think) that painted his Doral Country Club renovation. The case was decided the week after the Repub National Convention. Trump refused to pay the last installment of his payment because, as he said I think, "I've paid enough." He owed the guy about $28G but probably thought the guy wouldn't want to sue because of the attorney's fees, but he did. The judge awarded the guy his final payment plus his attorney's fees.
But as the painter said when he was asked about it, It was good to win the case but he hasn't given me a penny yet.
I would suggest that the painter be prepared for a long wait.
Here's one of the newspaper descriptions of the case:

(34,136 posts)Casino To Give $10 Million Unsecured Claim To Treasury Department

Atlantic City, N.J.s embattled Trump Taj Mahal casino has agreed to a settlement of federal findings that it violated anti-money-laundering requirements.
The Treasury Departments financial crimes enforcement regulators in December told Trump Taj Mahal Associates LLC it had violated the Bank Secrecy Acts program, reporting and record-keeping requirements, according to papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del.
Trump Entertainment Resorts, the casino units parent company, noted in a statement that the civil consent order was reported in the Chapter 11 plan voting materials that have been approved for creditor balloting. The company detailed the settlement Tuesday in a motion seeking approval from a bankruptcy judge. Trump Taj Mahal has agreed to consent to the assessment of a $10 million civil penalty, and admits violations of the anti-money-laundering program requirements.
Many of the violations cited by regulators for the years 2010 through 2012 were previously pointed out to Trump Taj Mahal, according to findings that were filed with the proposed settlement agreement.
