OH SWEET JESUS - I am not going to shave tomorrow- I am not going to canvass tomorrow....but...

I have shaved every day but 2 since August 15th - had to have "presentable" face while canvassing for TIM KAINE
I am not going to be knocking on doors to "persuade" people tomorrow or GOTV. What the hell am I goint to do???

I do NOT mean this as a post to receive accolades but GOD DAMN I am tired.
I still feeling the effects of being at the Kaine party on Tuesday night but DAMN that was great.
My wife was the actual star -- the campaign staff ADORED her.

I got an email this morning that Josie's soccer team was having an after season gathering.....at 9 AM
Are you kidding me?

We just saved the f---ing world !!!!!!
Okay we will be there. Just don't make a lot of noise.

Man it is going tp be great to actually watch football and not being popping in and out of my car thinking.....what the hell happened while I was knocking on Jessica and Dorothy's doors?

GOD DAMN that was a GREAT WIN!!! A great night.

I started with another pen but I got blasted so I switched to the Bic. The last night -election day - I was shivering with an almost dead pen scribbling on the tally sheets and then I went back to HQ and threw that damned thing in the trash....I wish now that I kept it...but it was OVER.

We won Peggy. We won.

I thought just that - this election saved (a large part of) the world. At least, the safety and security many have now, would have been squandered under a so called 'president romney'.

Most of the people I know here in Europe are excited to see Obama return as President. It's just this habeas corpus thing I find unsettling. It means somebody could snatch you (or me) off the street (even in Europe) and nobody could do anything about it.

Thank you for all your work and efforts. Thanks to Obama's re-election, I can go to sleep at night without worrying about my health insurance being cancelled, or ever being denied coverage in the future because of my so-called "pre-existing condition."

God Bless you and ENJOY the weekend!!

Oh, you didn't mean shaving....you know....there.

That's different.

I was out of town (in Washington, DC) for the week before the election, so my GOTV activities were largely limited to hoping that the rest of you were busting your hump during the last 72 hours.

Please accept my profound gratitude for all the work that all of your did in making this happen. It's the phone calls, the knocking on doors, the driving voters to the polls, that makes the difference in a close election. Obama gets all the applause, but it doesn't happen without an army of people giving their hearts and souls to the campaign. And the President would be the first to acknowledge that.

So thanks to all of you.

I drove a deaf woman to a poll and waited a ridiculous 90 minutes with her in line
I drove an illiterate woman to vote at a golf course and read the ballot to her
I drove a woman to the Jewish Community Center and bought chocolate covered truffles from the bake sale in the lobby

That pretty much sums up the who country in one day I think.

I was unable to do any campaign volunteering this time around as I did in '08--due to recent death of my mother--although I did donate. However, I am so very grateful for the dedicated efforts of those like you who gave so much of their hearts and souls to this effort. We are all indebted to you for the fantastic results. A thousand thanks.
