I think my head might explode

I usually stay fairly calm...but this political season is fucking insane. I really think people are going off the deep end. Trump supporters are just fucking clueless morons, racists, assholes, and stupid. When I meet someone who says they support Trump I won't even talk to them. You used to be able to discuss a political difference, sometimes even making someone consider the opposite opponent. Now you just hear "Obummer", "Swillary or Killary", Socialist, Communist, Muslim, Nazi, etc. There is no more discourse. We have a certifiably insane liar running for Pres and getting away scott-free lying his arse off everyday and a complacent and enabling media allowing him to do it. He doesn't spend any money advertising because he is a headline everyday. "Today Trump Broke Wind in Church" Film at 11.

I can't deal with this shit. I may need to tune out until November 9th and then hopefully wake up to President Clinton.

and most internet sites. It just isn't worth the angst to pay attention.
I detest network TV, rarely read print media. Here on DU, I find like minds and news that is worthwhile.

for what it is. Then just switch channels when certain pundits, surrogates, panels, campaign associates appear for their routine partisan pablum. For example, an appearance by "Hugh Hewitt" is automatically switched away from, but some of the things that come out of a few of Trump's people's mouth are actually funny to watch.

websites. All you need is a cell phone, but I don't know your situation
Every vote is needed polling doesn't equal voter suppression and we need the numbers high on Election Day . If you are in a complete blue state and plus all local is good see if any neighboring areas are being helped by your region via phone banking lists
I was able to call a neighbor state

Better than them in every way and volunteer.
The phone stuff gets easy after a short but- and you don't have to be face to face with people or talk longer than you want. Do it!

and i'm afraid. i swore off fear years ago, why must it visit me now? it's the helplessness i guess. aargh

Thanks for sharing. When Trump said he'd start firing Generals and replacing them with his own that made me think we could end up being North Korea or Iran.

How can we ever have progress in this country when we always have to beat back incredible stupidity like the Trump campaign???

Whenever I see reporters interviewing Trump supporters, I have to fast-forward or change the channel, as I have trouble believing that people are that stupid. It scares me more than Trump, as he wouldn't be where he is, if these people didn't enable him.

I also hate the name-calling, "Obummer" or "Swillary", and as such I try to never use such names when referring to republicans. I will, however, use whatever adjectives apply. Once Democrats start with vile names, things devolve even more. The difference in discourse helps to define us, as well as them. It is easy to get caught up in the nasty mudslinging, but it tends to separate us even more.

I've tried to tune out, but I can't. It would be like trying to ignore a coming hurricane.

People don't remember the end of 2007, under Bush, with food rotting on the docks because grocery stores couldn't get the credit they needed to purchase the food they had ordered.

Shiny?? New?? No, thanks. I'll take my solvent government.
