Democrats see the state in play in the presidential race.

Donald Trump plans a third trip to Texas this month.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee will soon be opening offices in Texas, stoking Democrats’ long-shot hopes of making the Lone Star State competitive in the presidential election.

The first office will open Saturday in Houston, and more will follow, said Garry Mauro, chairman of Hillary for Texas. The move follows polls showing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Clinton locked in a tight race in Texas.

Jimmy Carter was the last Democratic presidential candidate to win Texas, narrowly defeating President Gerald Ford in 1976.

“All Texas Democrats are encouraged by the recent polling that shows this to be a very close race,” said Mauro, among the last Democrats to win statewide office when he was elected land commissioner in 1994. “I think Trump is mad enough to lose the state.”.........................

an organization for family members of people killed by immigrants without legal status."

Trump continuing to keep his hate of latinos front and center ought to help turn out the vote for Hillary.
