David Axelrod Disses Clinton's 'Unhealthy' Obsession With Privacy

David Axelrod on Monday ripped Hillary Clinton for an "unhealthy penchant for privacy" after the former secretary of state did not disclose a pneumonia diagnosis before she stumbled at a public event over the weekend.

Axelrod, the former chief strategist for President Obama's campaigns, tweeted:

David Axelrod ✔
@davidaxelrod

Antibiotics can take care of pneumonia. What's the cure for an unhealthy penchant for privacy that repeatedly creates unnecessary problems?

Clinton spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri responded to the dig by admitting "we could have done better" following the incident.

There is nothing unhealthy about her skepticism related to Donald Trump and the GOP. These are people who were making up shit about her just a week ago. There is not doubt in my mind that if she had stayed home Sunday because she was not 'feeling' well, that would have been the story that led all the Sunday Morning talk shows.

The media and Trump surrogates are so disingenuous, and I've come to accept that. When Democrats like Axelrod start buying into their crazy shit, it just makes me shake my head.

All the more reason why we've got to do everything within our power to make sure Hillary gets elected. We can never allow Trump and his demagogues to profit from their blatant dishonesty and hypocrisy. They must be soundly defeated. I cannot imagine what our next presidential campaign would look like if they aren't.

all of this would have been avoided if she told them that she had pneumonia on Friday(and stayed home yesterday to avoid the footage). Of course, that asshole Trump would still be talking about how weak she is but we would not have that video.

You can't - with an ounce of honesty - say that all her wounds are self inflicted. It's HER fault that the cons have investigated Benghazi 10 times? It's HER fault that the media has set the bar so low for don the con that he can say and do whatever he wants and he's held to a completely different standard than she is? It's HER fault the cons have her dying from Parkinson's and the media has to report that bullshit as if it may be true? You must be kidding and are obviously still pissed about the primaries.

As far as Axelrod - hey, if he's okay with everyone seeing him hurt our candidate and still expect to ever get hired again, that's his problem. I wouldn't give that asshole the time of day.

Alot of these 'dem operatives' are exactly why the party has been kicked around for the past 16 years or so, since Gore "lost" the 2000 election and refused to fight harder for it.

Axelrod seems completely clueless to how vicious and organized the far right has become, how effective they are at pushing their fringe memes (benghazi, birtherism, healtherism, etc) into the mainstream media.

I do think it is Team Hillary's fault for failing to run a stronger campaign, by fighting back against these right wing memes, by crafting a stronger message, controlling the media narratives, having stronger surrogates, etc.

As in sports, there's only so much one can complain about the refs; true champions fight through unfairness and win.

Bill Clinton's candidacy was nearly sunk by the Gennifer Flowers scandal, but his campaign came out swinging and made it backfire on conservatives, as many Americans had become sick of their moralizing and judgemental attitudes.

We have never seen a campaign like this before - where the press has made clear they don't know how the fuck to cover this carnival barker. They are also slaves to ratings and like it or not, don the con brings them ratings. I don't think it would be helpful for Hillary or her surrogates to have to answer for every bullshit charge donnie or his surrogates throws out there - that gives them the airing they don't deserve. In watching his surrogates, gish gallop seems to be their MO - THAT needs to be fought against but I'm not sure how to combat that without getting into the sewer along with them.

David Axelrod. Even when he was with Pres. Obama, he'd sometimes go off and say some completely weird and silly things or reveal some thing that he shouldn't have revealed

I guess he ran then Sen. Obama's campaign flawlessly and never made not ONE single mistake. NOT.

And I'm very sure tRump is running his campaign in a "super duper" transparent way NOT, NOT, NOT.

to the fact that the right (breitbart/drudge/fox) has spent the past few months spinning health conspiracy theories, backed up by Trump saying "she lacks stamina" etc, all of which play into sexist stereotypes of women. These are low-blow attacks that the media is complicit in.

So of course Hillary wanted to conceal it, especially if it was something that would go away within a week or so.

Also, there's nothing wrong with being private, different types of people have different levels of extroversion. Not everyone wants to "live out loud" like a Kardashian.

And Axelrod fails to bring up Trump's historic lack of transparency, hasn't released tax returns, credible medical report, or really anything - yet the media continues to harp on Hillary's lack of transparency, when she fully complied with the investigations for all of these fake scandals.

There is simply a false equivalency between two drastically unequivalent candidates, with TRump being perhaps the least qualified person the ever run for president and Hillary perhaps the most qualified.

IMO, she has been too transparent, and that's what gives the media the sense to keep attacking for more and more and more information. Fuck them.

were only talking about hillary clinton, she has some weaknesses and she should address them.

the privacy thing is the big one and is the cause of all of her problems in this campaign, you will notice that trump has really risen in the polls, mrs. clinton has fallen to his level. if she isn't prepared to do what needs to be done to win this race she should have stayed home.

this whole deal is really easy to do but how does the saying go, pride before the fall or something like that.
