2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI am getting a little sick of the double standard by the media.
Yes, the Clinton campaign probably should have announced the pneumonia diagnosis on Friday. But meanwhile, how long has it been since Trump put out his one page middle school book report from his hippy doctor? And nary a peep from the press.
Same thing on tax returns. The press is letting Trump slide on the "audit" bs.
Same thing on family foundations. The Clinton Foundation gets high marks from independent charity rating groups. The Trump Foundation isn't even rated because it provides no relevant information to the rating groups. And increasingly, it appears to be mostly a fraud and more or less a slush fund for Trump.
Same thing on the "deplorables"
Trump calls the generals rubble and everyone yawns. Clinton rightly calls some of the people at Trump rallies deplorable and everyone freaks out. (And I might add, how is it that someone with a "Trump the Bitch" T shirt at a Trump rally is tolerated, not only by the other people at the rally, but also by the Trump campaign?)
Clinton gets scrutiny, Trump skates.

(16 posts)Meanwhile Mr. Trump gets to go around insulting everybody. Sick of it. Didn't realize we would have to beat him and the media.

(6,587 posts)facts but what are the DNC & other Dem leaders including the Clinton camp going to do about it. It has & will remain the same as long as the republicans fight the media back & Dems just wimper.
We can't be much help if the Dem Leadership is not going to do anything about it themselves.

(7,963 posts)Shame on all of them...except for Joy Reid. She is a beacon of light in overwhelming darkness.
When Hillary gets into office, I REALLY hope that we revisit the Fairness Doctrine. Should be first and foremost.
