2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWhatever Hillary does, the media will declare it is wrong.
This is an inconvenient truth. It doesn't make a difference what she does. If she does A, the media will declare she should have done B or maybe C. If she does B, well what's wrong with her? Everyone knows the appropriate option is A! It's like running toward a finish line when the ribbon keeps getting moved. It is no wonder Hillary doesn't trust the press. When it comes to Hillary, the press invokes a Groundhog Day world of betrayal and disservice. I don't blame her for wanting to keep them at a distance.
The coverage of this election is a disgrace.

They also seem to swallow all of the right-wing talking points hook, line and sinker. You'd think they would have learned after all of the times they've been burned badly but apparently not.

(11,605 posts)I was a 2008 Obama supporter and I have hated the way the media has treated him for most of his presidency but even I have to admit the media has always been even worse when it comes to covering Hillary. I don't know if that's because she doesn't give them access or just because of inherent double standards in terms of gender, but whatever it is, she has always gotten tougher press coverage than other candidates. Even when I supported Obama over her in 2008 I could see that.
