It is sad to see Rachel tell a lie. Kellyanne Conway is NOT a nice person. Before Conway worked for Trump she worked for Ted Cruz.

But it's worth a try. Conway is small potatoes. But if she can get Trump himself on her show, she can skewer his sorry ass to the barn door, and he'll never know it even happened. So, she lets Conway get away with a few minor stupidities (that everyone caught). The major prize is that Rachel made a crack in Trump's armor of isolation. If Conway doesn't realize how bad she looked, then Trump might not get it either until he watches the rerun and figures out what happened (if he indeed ever does)
