2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumToday marked the return of "classic" Trump. The question now becomes...
Can his handlers get him back under control, or has he decided to be himself again.
Tomorrow will be telling.

(6,437 posts)Just seeing signs and a gut feeling. I also think Trump has gotten cocky and feels he doesn't need minders anymore.

(6,437 posts)Like he was today.
Can the minders keep his phone away from him?
Is he willing to continue dully read from scripts?
I think he doesn't think he needs it anymore and is no longer consenting to be baby-sat.

(1,124 posts)Right now he's convinced he's going to win because of a few polls out this week. When they start coming back up in Hillary's favor, he'll do a couple of absolutely disgraceful speeches (such as the one in Arizona after his visit to Mexico), polls will drop and handlers will try to get him back under control before the debates. I hope the classic Trump will still be on display at the debate and Hillary remains calm. That way I don't think he'll see his polls go back up.

(79 posts)I think at this point he can literally say anything and it won't hurt him anymore. That might have been the plan, burn everyone out with outrageousness to the point where they're numb to it.
Let's face it, this guy shouldn't be close in the polls but he's on his way to winning, no one cares about his dopey statements anymore. He's become practically untouchable.
