On CNN just now: All media pool participants just pulled their photographers

from the tour of the hotel after the pool producer was physically restrained from participating. The protocol is that there is always a producer or reporter with photographers or else it turns into an infomercial. So they pulled the photographers and will not release any photos. The media did a big ol' fuck you to Donald. They are now showing video of Trump bragging about leaving the media behind on the plane and talking about how great that is.

Ashleigh Banfield is really on a rant.

Not for the state of the race, she is still ahead, but for the coverage he's going to get going forward. This was disgraceful and shameful and it just put his bigotry under the spotlight.

Huge miscalculation on his part and it will be an issue in the debates coming up.

the concept of media, but against the poor performance and credulousness of our mainstream media with respect to this election. Trump and his supporters don't like the idea of a free press, period, because they don't think it's "fair" for them to be able to criticize him. It's the difference between wanting fair and objective reporting and wanting reporting that is never critical, and that's a huge difference.

But Republican voters are even more distrustful. As you said its because "they don't think it's "fair" for them to be able to criticize him" And also they have been conditioned to think that the media is in the tank for Hillary, and that they haven't done enough on Benghazi, or emails, or the Clinton Foundation!

So what that means is that Trump knows he can't really lose with that stunt. In fact he will probably get praise by his supporters. And soon enough, after CNN realizes that he has called the bluff that they thought they were calling, they will be groveling back.

"Fair and balanced" to them means all RW talking points all the time. The well-funded, massive RW propaganda campaign has been very successful in getting a helluvalot of people to believe a helluvalot of BS, and this is one of their founding principles: anyone who disagrees with what we (the RW media) tells you is lying, unfair, or just plain crazy.

Don disses the press - press gets pissed off - no more photos and poor press releases - Don blames the "liberal" press - Press covers Don more - Don's basket case public sees the press as being hostile which reinforces their support of Don, etc., etc. , etc.

The press cannot win on this.

Is it possible that the media is finally getting a clue - that maybe Trump says and does dumb things just to keep the spotlight on himself because those he appeals to don't give a damn how stupid he looks and acts?
Whatever he does is for publicity, to keep the cameras on him and off of the issues.
Tomorrow he'll contradict whatever he says today because the media will flock to wherever he says it or does it and make a big deal out of it and spend precious air time demonstrating for their audiences that he's manipulating them when in fact it's the media he's manipulating.
Here's an idea: Instead of wasting so much air time letting him make ridiculous statements, why not spend two minutes showing no film of him but simply reporting: "Here are candidate Trump's contradictions for today" or "Here's who candidate Trump slandered today" and concluding with: "Here is the issue his opponent discussed and her position on it, which candidate Trump has avoided any mention of ..." Then tell us Hillary Clinton's position on the issue du jour and what - if anything - Trump has said about it.
Oh, that's right, the media would never do something that radical because they'd be accused of liberal bias and would lose ratings because Americans don't really care about issues.
What Americans want to see is political car wrecks.
Issues?
Those are only bitching points and are reserved for the time between elections.

They may be trying to turn the election into a horse race but they had better start thinking about how a President Trump would tream them if they help put him in the WH.
