Pete King Republican from NY asking the Federal Government for

additional help because the local resources are inadequate to handle the power outage and other problems.

That's fine and I'm sure President Obama's administration is and will do everything possible to help the
victims of Sandy get back on their feet. Time for the teabaggers to be held under the spotlight and denounced
for their policies that would see departments like FEMA eliminated. Their policies would prove fatal to hundreds of
thousands if not millions of Americans.

Where is the Long Island Teabag Party leader and how does he/she answer to these flawed and fatal policies?
I hope an independent journalist on Long Island can get an interview and see how they feel about getting
rid of FEMA NOW!

Unfamiliar with Kings politics, if he's signed Norquests contract but watching his interview this morning on
one of the shows just made me sick of the blatant hypocrisy of these Republicons when the shit hits the fan
in their own backyard.

He was one of a number of GOP congresspersons who said they considered that to have expired. King is now my Congressman. Got redistricted. I used to be in Steve Israel's district. King is very conservative, very independent in his way of doing things and last but far from least, batshit crazy in the opinion of many sane people.

Is he up for re-election in 2014?

They hold their Gubernatorial elections the year after the Presidential elections, so he is up for reelection next year 2013.

Can you even conceive of the business opportunities if FEMA were split into 51 different agencies? It's a wealth transfer plan.

To boot, what state is going to want to keep an agency fully funded and staffed if they only need it a few times/decade. Conversely, in the case of those states with a yearly need for disaster relief, how long could they afford to do so?

that services Long Island is state run as it is. When a state is declared a disaster zone
many local agencies fail not only due to incompetency but issues that are out of their
hands. FEMA has called in help from all over the nation. Many of the utility workers in
my State of WA. are in NY. right now. Imagine NY. trying to organize help from all
over the country on top of what they are dealing with already.

Medicare, SS and so many other things) are "one size fits all" solutions for every state and region. The only logical reason for splitting them up is profiteering. Remember, Wall St. and the Banksters can make just as much off making you go broke as taking your interest payments up-front.

Like Mitt Romney, they're willing to sell off the carcass (to some sucker) after they've removed the choice cuts.

This would make a good campaign ad next year. Time to retire this one.
